Joann Greeley has completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training under the guidance of Meaghan Burridge and Bobby Bessey at Shakti Yoga. Their teachings sparked a fire in her. She is currently enrolled in 300-hour teacher training under the guidance of Christina Sell, founder of Live the Light of Yoga Training, and Giaconda Parker.
Joann teaches alignment in her classes so that her students can build a strong foundation and move their own practice to the level they desire. Joann’s knowledge of breathing techniques and alignment cues, will guide you through new movements with ease.
Joann is passionate about community. She believes we all need strong community in order to feel accepted. She enjoys being active – hiking, kayaking, exploring, being in nature, and being able to control the mind; a great gift.
Joann was born a seeker and has always wanted to see what was around the next corner. Her welcoming heart makes everyone feel comfortable.
Kelly Bursey has been practising yoga since 2006, but in 2012, after receivingher200-hour certification from Shakti Yoga, Kelly began to share the gift of her knowledge through instruction. Inspired by the alignment-based approach of Ansura Yoga, Kelly has made Hatha Yoga the basis of her teachings. She also studied with Christina Sell, Noah Maze, and Gioconda Parker.
Kelly’s yoga classes combine breath-based movement and are taught with clear alignment instructions that allow the student to become fully integrated in their own individual practice.
Natural environments are most comforting for Kelly. Nurturing a vegetable garden brings satisfaction and peace. Appreciative of fresh air, kindness, and the people around her, Kelly’s positivity and compassion shines through.
Jennifer Thompson first found Yoga in 2008, though it wasn’t until 2014 that something inside her clicked and she made this beautiful practice a regular part of her day to day life. In 2017, she decided to take the plunge and registered with Shatki Yoga to complete her 200hr yoga teacher training under the guidance of Bobby Bessey and Meaghan Burridge.
Her style focuses on alignment, and she teaches what she loves; Creative Hatha flows designed to lead her students deeper into themselves and their bodies, while connecting with their breath and the essence of their inner being. She believes that through practice and patience, Yoga offers a gateway to overcoming life’s day to day obstacles and helps fine tune the tools needed to stay in the present moment, even when faced with unexpected circumstances.
A lover of life, and a seeker of wisdom, Jennifer devotes much of her free time to reading, practicing, and spending time in nature, which she believes to be the greatest teacher of all. Forever a student, the next part of her Yoga Journey will take her to the jungles of Costa Rica in April 2019 where she will complete her 300hr Teacher Training with Erin Kelly and Steph Gongora.
